    Keep your dancer active during the summer months in this laid back, casual Ballet class. All levels are encouraged to participate!

    1) Our Ballet Classes will be held at the Farmington Community & Senior Center in Unionville.

    2) Our Ballet Classes will be held on Mondays, July 20 - August 10.

    3) Facemasks are expected to be worn by parents/guardians upon arrival and in public when 6' social distance cannot be maintained. Although we do not expect participants to be within 6' of one another for the majority of the time, please arrive with a facemask available.

    4) Parents will not be able to wait indoors during class. Parents are asked to wait outside near or in their vehicles during classes.

    126001 - REC Summer Camp, Ages 5 - 13

    Farmington Recreationís traditional REC Summer Camp for ages 5 - 10 and REC Tween Camp for ages 10 - 13 have been combined for 2020 as we strive to offer a sense of normalcy providing the highest quality and safest summer camp experience! Don't miss our unforgettable 2020 REC Summer Camp! Our goal for the Summer of 2020 is for campers to build friendships and stay socially and physically active through organized games, activities, sports, special entertainment, arts & crafts and more!

    SPACE IS LIMITED! REGISTER NOW!


    Based on state mandates, registrants will be divided into groups of no more than ten each week. Groups will be organized by age and these groups will stay independent and will not intermingle with other groups throughout the week. Due to this state mandate, the registration deadline for each week of camp is the Friday prior at noon which will allow us to create these groups. Please note that the deadline to register for week two (July 6 - 10) is Thursday, July 2 at noon.

    Please note that upon arrival, health screenings including participants temperatures will be taken by staff before registrants/parents may proceed to the sign in table. If a participantís temperature reads 100 degrees or above or the participant has any signs of COVID-19 symptoms, they will not be admitted to camp. If a camper shows signs of sickness throughout the camp day, they will be moved to an isolated area and immediate parent/guardian pick up will be required. In order to return, they will need a doctor's note obtaining clearance to return to camp.

    Another change for this summer is the elimination of "After-Care" as well as the possible closer of camp due to extreme inclement weather. This information will be communicated via email and/or text message as it becomes available.

    Although specific instructions will be emailed prior to each week of camp, please take note of the following information.

    1) REC Summer Camp will be held on the grounds at West Woods Upper Elementary School. Specific instructions regarding drop-off and pick-up will be sent via email prior to the start of each week of camp.

    2) Cancellations due to inclement weather will be communicated via email and/or text message.

    3) It is expected that participants bring their own hand sanitizer. Farmington Recreation staff will schedule Healthy Hand Hygiene breaks throughout the day.

    4) It is expected that participants bring their own sunscreen, preferably in a spray bottle in order for our staff to assist in the application as permitted.

    5) Campers need to wear socks and sneakers and bring a lunch and plenty of water. No refrigeration available.

This camp is intentionally designed to show kids the multiple advantages of playing multiple sports. Directed by Farmington PE Teacher and multisport coach, Max Fantl, Junior 2.4.1 Farmington allows campers to participate in a wide variety of fun filled sports and activities.     Kids will be playing all day and learning how the skills from one sport crossover to the next. Before and after care options are available. Additional staff include a number of current/former Farmington multisport student athletes who act as counselors and role models for the benefits of multisport participation.

    Would you like to get more comfortable on a bike or build your cycling endurance? Do you want to increase your biking fitness so you can get faster and bike farther? You will be coached through proper warm-ups for cycling, bike safety checks, what to take on a bike ride, how to change a flat tire, how to draft safely and learn different ways to train. This program is designed for all levels and abilities and is coached by an Ironman World Championship qualifier who has coached biking for 17 years!

    221420 - Girls In Stride

    Imagine the thrill your daughter will feel as she crosses the finish line in her first race! This non-competitive training program is designed for all levels of runners. Help your daughter gain confidence, build self-esteem, and lead her to a path of health and fitness. Focus will be on using games and drills that make running fun, while also improving athletic performance for those who play other sports. As part of the program, the girls will be exposed to goal setting, journaling of training, nutrition, and mental preparation. This dynamite training program will prepare your daughter for Celebrate! West Hartford 5K Road Race on Sunday, June 7, 2020. The program fee includes a t-shirt and training journal. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be held inside in the school gym.

    Race registration is not included in the program fee.

    Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football, NFL Flag Football and MudHogs Cheerleading to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Harwinton.     GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Player assessments for new Flag players will be held on Sunday, August 23.

    The first practices will be held on Friday, August 28. Optional practices will be held on Friday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 9. Practices will be held Fridays throughout the course of the season. Games will begin on Sunday, September 13 and will run through Sunday, November 1 with potential playoff games on November 8. There are no games scheduled on Sunday, September 6 or October 11, but these may be used as make-up dates if needed.

    301020 - MudHogs Tackle Football

    Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football, NFL Flag Football and MudHogs Cheerleading to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Harwinton. For more information and to start the registration process, please register your child in the appropriate group below and visit MudHogs Football at www.mudhogsfootball.com.


    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Practices will begin the week of August 3 and will run Monday - Thursday through the end of the month. Once games begin, practices will be held Tuesdays - Thursdays. Specific requests for practice days and times will not be accepted. Games are held on Sundays and will begin Sunday, September 6.
