    TINY-HAWK: BASKETBALL AND SOCCER:

    The essentials of Basketball & Soccer are introduced in a fun and safe environment with lots of encouragement. Children will learn balance, body movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development through a series of sport-specific games tailored to their attention spans. Skykawks Staff are trained to handle the specific needs of these young athletes!

    MINI-HAWK: BASEBALL, BASKETBALL AND SOCCER

    This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun! The Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks Staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes.

    121150 - Coach Machol's Football Skills Camp

    In this non-contact skills camp open to both youth and high school players (entering grades 6 - 12), athletes will be taught the fundamentals of football including safe and effective tackling, blocking, positional skills and basic offensive, defensive and special-teams rules and tactics. High school players will also receive advanced positional instruction to take their game to the next level. Athletes will be placed in developmentally appropriate age groups based on size, strength, skill and experience. Each session will include individual station work, team periods and contests/competitions. Players need to bring sneakers, cleats and water. A camp T-shirt is included.

    Participants will enjoy this aerial forest adventure and can choose from 8 different trails of varying levels of difficulty. If you're looking for obstacles, zip lines and bridges, you've come to the right place!

    Wednesday, August 14: Berkshire East Canopy Tours
    The Valley Jump Tour at Berkshire East has become a staple in our program. Participants will complete a 3-hour zip line tour through the Berkshires. The tour's X1 and X2 zips are over a half mile long!

    Thursday, August 15: Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park
    Cool off at Connecticut's #1 Water Park! Zip line into the water, make a splash at the Rope Swing, climb Inflatable Water Obstacles or relax in our private gazebo!

    Friday, August 15: Berkshire Whitewater Rafting
    The Grande Finale of our week of adventure! Participants will enjoy over 6 miles of Class I and II rapids, the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting. Rafters will enjoy a riverside picnic after reaching the highlight of the trip, the class III Zoar Gap! Enjoy lots of laughs, beautiful scenery and whitewater rafting as we wrap up the week on a high, and very wet note!

    Campers will receive a REC Adventure T-Shirt!

    Campers should bring their own lunch, snack and beverage. Lunch will be provided when specified. Specific scheduling and program information will be distributed prior to the first day of camp.

    This motivational training program is designed for all levels of adult runners. Gain confidence and pride and run with Farmington Recreation for the Health of It! Focus will be on warm-ups, plyometric drills and stretches that make running fun, while also improving your athletic performance. Envision the excitement you’ll feel as you cross the finish line of the 22nd Annual Bluefish 5K Road Race in Clinton, CT on Saturday, August 17th with our group of Run for the Heath Of It participants! Registration for this race is not required to participate in the program.

    Finishing a 5K is an impressive achievement at any age. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and pride your son will feel when he crosses the finish line of the Celebrate! West Hartford 5K Road Race on June 2, 2019. MPower Boys Running will prepare him to do just that. Modeled after popular Couch-to-5K plans, MPower’s training program is designed for all levels of runners: from very beginners to experienced racers. We will concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance over the weeks through a combination of running drills, games and core strength exercises.     Imagine the thrill your daughter will feel as she crosses the finish line in her first race! This non-competitive training program is designed for all levels of runners. Help your daughter gain confidence, build self-esteem, and lead her to a path of health and fitness. Focus will be on using games and drills that make running fun, while also improving athletic performance for those who play other sports. As part of the program, the girls will be exposed to goal setting, journaling of training, nutrition, and mental preparation. This dynamite training program will prepare your daughter for Celebrate! West Hartford 5K Road Race on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The program fee includes a t-shirt and training journal. In the case of inclement weather, the program will be held inside in the school gym.

    Touch up on your aquatic skills with Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Field Club. Beginner level youth will learn from fun and engaging Farmington Field Club swim instructors on how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it while the more intermediate youth will gain confidence, improve their stroke and gain additional aquatic skills. Participants will be contacted by the Farmington Field Club prior to the start date to familiarize them with the club.

    Whether you are a beginner or a more accomplished player, you'll be sure to enjoy our Spring Tennis Lessons with United States Professional Tennis Association Pro, Paul Ratcliffe.

    All lessons are designed with the player's age and ability level in mind. Fitness, stroke development, game play, court movement and match strategy will be addressed.
