    131410 - Running For All Levels

    Are you interested in learning how to train to increase your running fitness? Are you interested in getting back into running for exercise but need guidance and motivation? Come learn dynamic warm-ups and strength exercises that prevent injuries and learn different ways to get fitter and stronger as a runner! This program is designed for all levels and abilities and is coached by an Ironman World Championship qualifier who has coached running for 17 years!

    1) Our Running for All Levels Program will be held on Mondays and will meet at the New Britain Avenue/Oakridge Parking Lot. In case of inclement weather, please contact Farmington Recreation at 860.65.2540.

    2) Facemasks are expected to be worn by parents/guardians upon arrival and in public when 6' social distance cannot be maintained. Please arrive with a facemask available upon check-in.

    3) Participants are not required to wear a mask during our classes.

    4) It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the lessons.

    5) Please consider others and stay at home if you have any of the symptoms related to COVID-19.

    CONCUSSION INFORMATION:
    Per Connecticut General Statutes, programs that service children ages 7 - 19 who engage in an athletic activity such as an organized game or competition against another team or in preparation for a game or competition or who attend an athletic camp or clinic in which the purpose is to train, instruct, or prepare the participant to engage in an organized athletic game or competition to provide a written or electronic statement on the signs and symptoms of concussions to each athlete and parent/guardian upon registration.     131420 - Biking for All Levels

    Would you like to get more comfortable on a bike or build your cycling endurance? Do you want to increase your biking fitness so you can get faster and bike farther? You will be coached through proper warm-ups for cycling, bike safety checks, what to take on a bike ride, how to change a flat tire, how to draft safely and learn different ways to train. This program is designed for all levels and abilities and is coached by an Ironman World Championship qualifier who has coached biking for 17 years!

    321410 - MPower Boys Running

    Finishing a 5K is an impressive achievement at any age. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and pride your son will feel when he crosses the finish line of Jamie's Run in Old Wethersfield on November 1! MPower Boys Running will prepare him to do just that. Modeled after popular Couch-to-5K plans, MPower’s training program is designed for all levels of runners: from very beginners to experienced racers. We will concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance over the weeks through a combination of running drills, games and core strength exercises. Race registration is not included in the program fee and is not required to participate in this great program!

    Location: Irving A. Robbins Middle School Fields

    1. Facemasks/coverings are expected to be worn in public. Please arrive with a facemask available during check-in. Please note that facemasks are not expected to be worn by participants during participation.

    2. It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the program.

    3. It is expected that all participants bring any necessary equipment/supplies and plenty of water. Items may not be shared.

    4. Please consider others and stay at home if you have any of the symptoms related to COVID-19. Note that participants may not attend if they have recently traveled to and returned from one of the states listed on the State of Connecticut’s Travel Advisory List.

    321420 - Girls in Stride

    Imagine the thrill your daughter will feel as she crosses the finish line in her first race. This non-competitive training program is designed for all levels of runners. Help your daughter gain confidence, build self-esteem, and lead her to a path of health and fitness. Focus will be on using games and drills that make running fun, while also improving athletic performance for those who play other sports. As part of the program, the girls will be exposed to goal setting, journaling of training, nutrition, and mental preparation. This dynamite training program will prepare your daughter for Jamie’s Run in Old Wethersfield on Sunday, November 1! Race registration is not included in the program fee and is not required to participate in this great program!
