    The essentials of Basketball & Soccer are introduced in a fun and safe environment with lots of encouragement. Children will learn balance, body movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development through a series of sport-specific games tailored to their attention spans. Skykawks Staff are trained to handle the specific needs of these young athletes!

    MINI-HAWK: BASEBALL, BASKETBALL AND SOCCER

    This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of baseball, basketball and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun! The Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks Staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes.

    121150 - Farmington Valley Football Skills Clinic

    In this non-contact skills camp open to both youth and high school players (entering grades 6 - 12), athletes will be taught the fundamentals of football including safe and effective tackling, blocking, positional skills and basic offensive, defensive and special-teams rules and tactics. High school players will also receive advanced positional instruction to take their game to the next level. Athletes will be placed in developmentally appropriate age groups based on size, strength, skill and experience. Each session will include individual station work, team periods and contests/competitions. Players need to bring sneakers, cleats and water.

    Register by Wednesday, June 19 and receive a camp t-shirt!

    Tuesday, August 13: The Adventure Park at Storrs
    Participants will enjoy this aerial forest adventure and can choose from 8 different trails of varying levels of difficulty. If you're looking for obstacles, zip lines and bridges, you've come to the right place!

    Wednesday, August 14: Berkshire East Canopy Tours
    The Valley Jump Tour at Berkshire East has become a staple in our program. Participants will complete a 3-hour zip line tour through the Berkshires. The tour's X1 and X2 zips are over a half mile long!

    Thursday, August 15: Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park
    Cool off at Connecticut's #1 Water Park! Zip line into the water, make a splash at the Rope Swing, climb Inflatable Water Obstacles or relax in our private gazebo!

    Friday, August 15: Berkshire Whitewater Rafting
    The Grande Finale of our week of adventure! Participants will enjoy over 6 miles of Class I and II rapids, the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting. Rafters will enjoy a riverside picnic after reaching the highlight of the trip, the class III Zoar Gap! Enjoy lots of laughs, beautiful scenery and whitewater rafting as we wrap up the week on a high, and very wet note!

    Campers will receive a REC Adventure T-Shirt!

    Campers should bring their own lunch, snack and beverage. Lunch will be provided when specified. Specific scheduling and program information will be distributed prior to the first day of camp.

    Departs from the Staples House located at 2 Monteith Drive in Farmington (across from the Library and Town Hall).

    Whether you are a beginner or a more accomplished player, this tennis camp taught by Farmington High School girls tennis coach Charlie Butterfield is for you! All lessons are designed with the player's ability level in mind. Fitness, stroke development, game play, court movement, and match strategy are among some of the focus areas.     Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football, NFL Flag Football and MudHogs Cheerleading to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Harwinton.     In this course, participants will learn the basics of the Olympic Sport of Fencing taught by Fencing Master, Marc Ganych.

    Marc, who has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise, studied Olympic Foil Fencing from 1979 to 1987. Marc is the 1984 Gold Medalist of the "First Junior Games" as well as the 1985 Bronze Medalist of the National Tournament "Blades of Ala-Tau". Marc is also the 1985 "Outstanding Fencing Technique" award winner as well as a pub-lished author of e-book "Powerful Fencing Footwork".

    The Farmington Valley Field Hockey League is comprised of teams from Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby, Harwinton, Simsbury and Wethersfield. The New England Revolution's Revs Kickers instructional program places players in an environment that encourages technical training, creativity and confidence through age-appropriate coaching while fostering a competitive, professional and fun atmosphere. Encouragement and support from our professional coaches allows every player to gain a better understanding of - and continued pass for - the game of soccer.

    Our 2019 Fall Soccer Program is slated to begin on Saturday, September 7 and conclude on November 3 (weather permitting) with no program on October 12 & 13. Revs Kickers is scheduled for Saturdays, but make-ups may be scheduled on Sundays when necessary.

This motivational training program is designed for all levels of adult runners. Gain confidence and pride and run with Farmington Recreation for the Health of It! Focus will be on warm-ups, plyometric drills and stretches that make running fun, while also improving your athletic performance.     The race is not required to participate in the program. Race registration is not included in the program fee.

    Program will meet at the New Britain Avenue/Oakridge Parking Lot.

We will depart from the Farmington Community & Senior Center, located at 321 New Britain Avenue in Unionville. Drop off points will be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Rockefeller Center. We will return from Rockefeller Center only.
