    Fun, energetic music and the basic knowledge of ballet, tap and jazz will be incorporated into these classes. Leotard, tights, tap shoes and either ballet or jazz shoes are required.

    Fun, energetic music and the basic knowledge of dance movement will be introduced to children in the beginner Creative Movement class.

    Participants will need a leotard and ballet shoes.

    121101 - Coach Mac's Baseball Clinics

    Directed by Coach Mike "Mac" McGuire and Coach Pendergast, participants will learn to play like they’re in the major leagues! This camp includes instruction on hitting, fielding, pitching, throwing, base running, game strategy, and a discussion on the rules and regulations. Children need to bring a snack, water, and will receive a camp T-shirt.

    1) Coach Mac's Baseball Clinics will be held Monday - Thursday at the River Glen Little League Complex in Farmington. In case of inclement weather, Friday will be used for a make-up date.

    This camp, Directed by Westwoods Golf Course Pro, Larry Graham, is designed for novice/intermediate player with an emphasis on the fundamentals of the game including the short game, driving, etiquette and rules. Campers will play daily and receive a hat and shirt. Campers must provide their own clubs. Lunch will be provided. Participants should bring snacks and plenty of water.

    Open to players entering grades 5 - 8 and of all ability levels, Farmington Recreation's Field Hockey Clinics are the perfect opportunity to train with experienced coaches and take your game to the next level! Each day, participants will receive instruction in skills, drills and game strategies to improve footwork, stick handling and more! Shin guards are required. Goggles are recommended. Sticks may be available for use upon request.

    121131 - River Hawks Field Hockey Clinics

    Welcome to the River Hawks Field Hockey Clinics! Directed by FHS Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach Sadie Robinson, these clinics are an opportunity for young women entering grades 3-12 interested in learning or progressing in the competitive sport of field hockey. These clinics are designed for all players from the beginner level (future) to the varsity high school level (seasoned) to participate in and practice fundamentals, skills, games, and competition. During the week, players will work with experienced field hockey coaches from around the state to master fundamental stick skills, game/field knowledge, positioning, and strategy through individual drills, offensive and defensive drills, games, team building exercise and more! There are awards for the week including Camper of the Day, Camper of the Week, Most Improved Player, Most Valuable Player, and a Sportsmanship Award.

    Register before Friday, June 25 to receive a reversible field hockey pinnie!

    Athletes should have a field hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard, eye guard, cleats/sneakers, snack and plenty of water. Goalies who wish to participate must have their own goalie equipment.

    Farmington Recreation, Farmington High School Football, and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer 2021 Farmington Summer Football Camp.

    Our Farmington Summer Football Camp, managed by the Farmington Valley MudHogs and Farmington High School Football, is an instructional program for youth entering grades Kindergarten to High School Seniors. Youth will develop technical skills, tactical skills, and physical skills with others in category segments on June 21 through June 24 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Farmington High School Football Field. Skill development pertains to both Tackle and NFL Flag Football within the 0-Air mode and 1-Bag mode (non-contact drills). In this week-long program players can expect to go through a series of technical drills, soccer specific conditioning, small sided games, and full game situations. Players should come into the clinic with a high fitness level to make the most of the experience. This clinic gives the players the opportunity to better themselves as an individual player and member of a team. Participants registered by July 31 will receive a Select Soccer Clinic T-Shirt.     Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide! Similar to soccer, futsal is played with a smaller, low bounce ball and encourages great touch on the ball, good footwork and dribbling. Futsal gives soccer players confidence, comfort and some flair on the soccer field. Players will work on individual foot skills, develop their technical and tactical skills and learn how to apply them in a game setting. Skills and drills are developmentally appropriate, high yielding and created to bring out the best in each player. Soccer flats/court shoes or sneakers are required.     The Connecticut Swish Basketball Camp gives boys and girls entering grades 1 - 9 (Fall 2021) in the Farmington Valley area an opportunity to mix both basketball instruction and summer fun. Under the direction of Farmington High School coaches Duane Witter and Jeff Daddio, CT Swish Camp aims to serve the needs of both the recreational and serious basketball player. CT Swish Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and all campers will receive a t-shirt and a basketball.

    CT SWISH CAMP SPECIFICS
    1) The CT Swish Basketball camp is committed to providing a high-quality program for a fair and reasonable tuition rate. The current rate is a tremendous value for a quality full day basketball camp including a ball, t-shirt, team picture, awards and much more.

    2) Arrival, Lunch and Dismissal: All campers will bring their lunch. A drink will be provided. Camp will open at 8:30 a.m. and staff will be available until 3:15 p.m. for families needing extra time for drop off or pick up. Please contact the Camp Director if you have any questions.

    Directed by FHS Boys Lacrosse Coach Walt Stefanow, participants will learn a variety of lacrosse skills in this high energy camp. Team and individual position skills will be taught by high school coaches and varsity level players. A lacrosse stick, helmet and pads are required.     Monday, August 9: Empower Adventures CT at Nomads Adventure Park
    We will start our week at the Aerial Adventure Park at Empower Adventures CT where participants will enjoy over 80 unique climbing challanges and zip lines! Empower staff will facilitate their signature high-energy ground-based adventure teen camp challenge.

    Tuesday, August 10: Black Hall Outfitters
    Participants will enjoy a guided kayaking trip on the beautiful salt water ponds and inlets of the Connecticut shoreline!

    Wednesday, August 11: Berkshire East Canopy Tours
    The Valley Jump Tour at Berkshire East has become a staple in our program. Participants will complete a 3-hour zip line tour through the Berkshires. The tour's X1 and X2 zips are over a half mile long!

    Thursday, August 12: Brownstone Exploration & Discovery Park
    Cool off at Connecticut's #1 Water Park! Zip line into the water, make a splash at the Rope Swing, climb Inflatable Water Obstacles or relax in our private gazebo!

    Friday, August 13: Zoar Outdoor Whitewater Rafting
    The Grand Finale of our week of adventure! Participants will enjoy over 6 miles of Class I and II rapids, the perfect introduction to whitewater rafting. Rafters will enjoy a riverside picnic after reaching the highlight of the trip, the class III Zoar Gap! Enjoy lots of laughs, beautiful scenery and whitewater rafting as we wrap up the week on a high, and very wet note!

    Campers will receive a REC Adventure T-Shirt!

    Campers should bring their own lunch, snack and beverage. Lunch will be provided on Friday, August 13. Specific scheduling and program information will be distributed prior to the first day of camp. Departure and return times vary each day.

    Give your child the opportunity to sample multiple sports and learn for themselves how playing one sport increases their ability and confidence in another. All attendees play at least three sports each day and we encourage all campers to try at least one sport they’ve never tried before. 2.4.1 Sports in Farmington is Directed by Coach Max Fantl and both weeks are staffed by other Wellness Teacher from Farmington as well as coaches of multiple sports in addition to Junior Counselors who are current high school and collegiate athletes.     Are you interested in learning how to train to increase your running fitness? Are you interested in getting back into running for exercise but need guidance and motivation? Come learn dynamic warm-ups and strength exercises that prevent injuries and learn different ways to get fitter and stronger as a runner! This program is designed for all levels and abilities and is coached by an Ironman World Championship qualifier who has coached running for 17 years!

    Townwide Tennis LLC is a local, competetive, fun and friendly adult tennis league open to men and women, 18 years of age and older, of any skill level.

    Townwide Tennis LLC allows you to schedule your own matches and play at your convenience. Your goal is to play everyone in your division once (or twice if it is a small division.)

    After your match, the winner reports the score on the website. The more you play, the more points you earn! It’s that simple!

    Whether you are a beginner or a more accomplished player, you'll be sure to enjoy our Summer Tennis Lessons with United States Professional Tennis Association Pro, Paul Ratcliffe.

    Finishing a 5K is an impressive achievement at any age. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and pride your son will feel when he crosses the finish line of his first 5K! MPower Boys Running will prepare him to do just that. Modeled after popular Couch-to-5K plans, MPower’s training program is designed for all levels of runners: from very beginners to experienced racers. We will concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance over the weeks through a combination of running drills, games and core strength exercises.     This program is considered a Low to Moderate Risk Program that involves close, sustained contact, but with protective equipment in place that may reduce the likelihood of respiratory particle transmission between participants OR intermittent close contact OR group sports OR sports that use equipment that can’t be cleaned between participants. Please take note of the public health protocols list below prior to registration.

    1) Event organizers, staff, coaches, and participants shall conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19. Please take note that our instructors have the right to refuse participation by anyone they feel are experiencing symptoms.

    In this course, participants will learn the basics of the Olympic Sport of Fencing taught by Fencing Master, Marc Ganych.

    Marc, who has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise, studied Olympic Foil Fencing from 1979 to 1987. Marc is the 1984 Gold Medalist of the "First Junior Games" as well as the 1985 Bronze Medalist of the National Tournament "Blades of Ala-Tau". Marc is also the 1985 "Outstanding Fencing Technique" award winner as well as a published author of e-book "Powerful Fencing Footwork".

    ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
    1) This program is scheduled at the Farmington Community & Senior Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville.

    Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football, NFL Flag Football and MudHogs Cheerleading to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Harwinton.     GENERAL INFORMATION:

    VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED: Please consider volunteering to coach or assist teams in this year's league. The more coaches available to help, the better experience the players will have.     Player evaluations will be held on Sunday, August 15 (time and location TBD). The first practices will be held on Friday, August 20. Practices are typically held Fridays throughout the season. Games will begin on Sunday, August 29 and will run through Sunday, October 17 with playoffs scheduled October 24 and 31. Games are held between 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    Players must have a sports mouth guard, athletic shorts, cleats (metal not permitted) or sneakers. An NFL Flag Football team jersey and NFL Flags will be provided to all players.

    A late fee of $25.00 will be assessed beginning Saturday, July 31, 2021. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after 8/12/2021.

    Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football and the Nutmeg Youth Football League to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, and Harwinton.     GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Team conditioning practices will start on July 12, 2021 running Monday thru Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Team full practices will start on July 26, 2021, running Monday thru Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. All practices will be held at Farmington High School. The week of August 2, 2021 through - the end of the season practices will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday same time (coach may choose to practice different days), until we lose daylight, at which point, times will be changed and communicated.     Games will be held Sundays beginning September 5, 2021. We will play seven games to play all teams in the Nutmeg Youth Football League. Playoffs start on October 31, 2021 and will continue until a champion is declared per division on November 14, 2021.

Farmington Recreation and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer MudHogs Tackle Football, Cheer and NFL Flag Football to the youth of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Harwinton.     GENERAL INFORMATION:

    A Squad: Grades 7 - 8
    B Squad: Grades 5 - 6

    The first practices will run August 16 - 19 and August 23 - 26 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

    TENTATIVE: Practices will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning August 31 through the end of the season. A&B Squads will practice 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and C Squad will practice from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. The practice location is TBD pending approval of facilities by Farmington Public Schools.

    For practices, participants should wear appropriate athletic attire, cheer sneakers, have hair up in a neat ponytail if possible and bring plenty of water.

    All squads will cheer at Farmington Valley MudHogs home games (C Squad attends until half time, A&B Squads attend full game).

    All participants will be provided with a cheer skirt, shell and midriff which must be returned at the end of the season. Participants must be sized properly for cheer sneakers at Dancingly Yours. The sneakers, briefs and hair bows will also be provided by the cheer program and will be distributed by program volunteers. Families are required to provide no-show white socks.

    Welcome to the Farmington Valley Field Hockey League for girls entering Grades 5-6!

    The Farmington Valley Field Hockey League is comprised of teams from Avon, Farmington, Granby, Simsbury and Wethersfield. The program includes one practice and one game per week. This is a recreational league that requires travel to away games. Each player is responsible for their own field hockey stick, cleats, mouth guard, shin guards, and eye protection. A reversible game jersey will be provided.

    Games will be played in two 30 minute halves on half of the field, 8 v 8 with no goalies.

    Farmington Recreation's instructional program places players in an environment that encourages practical training, imagination and self-confidence through age-appropriate coaching while fostering a competitive, professional and enjoyable atmosphere. Reassurance and care from our coaches allows every player to gain a better understanding of the game of soccer.

    Our 2021 Fall Soccer Program is slated to begin on Saturday, September 11 and conclude on November 6 (weather permitting) with no program on October 9. Our Jr. Soccer Program is scheduled for Saturdays, but make-ups may be scheduled on Sundays when necessary.

    * Please select one of the following three training sessions below. Limit 14 per session.

    ** Players will be provided with a Farmington Recreation Soccer Jersey and Coaching.

    *** Players will need a size 3 soccer ball and cleats/shin-guards are suggested.

    Farmington Recreation is excited to offer the Soccer Shots Mini program for 2 and 3 year olds here in Farmington. This energetic and fun program is professionally designed under the guidance of childhood education specialists, MLS and USL professional players and licensed coaches to be developmentally appropriate and tailored specifically to young age groups. The sessions are 35 minutes in length and will introduce your child to the basics of soccer in a social setting. Using creative and imaginative games, songs, and positive reinforcement weekly sessions will focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, confidence, and appreciation. Physical skills, motor development and fun are guaranteed in this program. Each child will receive a Soccer Shots shirt. Spaces are limited and will fill quickly. No gear is needed! Just bring a water bottle and your favorite play clothes!

    * Our Tuesday Soccer Shots Mini is designed for players ages 2 & 3 by September 14, 2021. Our Thursday Soccer Shots Mini is designed for players ages 2 & 3 by September 9, 2021.

    ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
    1) This clinic is scheduled at West Woods Elementary School's athletic fields. In case of inclement weather, we will make every effort to schedule make-up dates.

    Per Connecticut General Statutes, Connecticut Youth Athletic Leagues are required to provide information on the signs, symptoms, nature and the risks of concussions. Information can be found at www.cdc.gov/headsup.
