    100000 - Community Special Events

Farmington Community & Recreational Services is excited to announce that we are taking our Spring celebration on the road! The extension of Connecticut’s statewide "stay home order" will unfortunately prevent a rescheduled Spring Egg Hunt, but our Spring Bunny did not want to miss seeing all those happy faces.

So, this year, with the help of the Farmington Fire Departments, the Bunny will be going on tour throughout Farmington and Unionville on a unique, social distancing "Bunny Hop!" The Bunny will be passing through your neighborhood on a fire truck spreading spring cheer!

Click on the shopping cart below to register the primary guardian in your household for this FREE event for Farmington/Unionville residents. Your address will be added to the Bunny’s parade route on Saturday, April 4th. The parade will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. and will continue until he drives by everyone’s home (maintaining social distancing etiquette) to wish you all a happy spring!

Follow us on Instagram @FarmingtonCommunityServices and Facebook @FarmingtonCommunityServices for live updates of the Bunny’s route.

IMPORTANT! Our annual egg hunt is a free event that benefits the Farmington Food Pantry. Last year, thanks to hundreds of community members, we donated 1,300 pounds of food! Without this donation, as well as the many school food drives that typically occur in the spring, the food pantry is in desperate need. Please consider a financial contribution to support all they are doing for Farmington residents affected by COVID-19.

    Click here to donate. https://www.farmingtonfoodpantryct.com/ways-to-help

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 3 AT 2:00 p.m.

Follow us on Instagram @FarmingtonCommunityServices and Facebook @FarmingtonCommunityServices for live updates of the Bunny’s route.

Farmington Soccer - Winning on the field, in the classroom and in the community...
Farmington High Schools' boys and girls varsity soccer coaches Nick Boorman and Max Fantl are joining forces to welcome all soccer players to the first year of the Farmington Soccer Goal Clinic. This is a great opportunity for all youth soccer players to get high level coaching from Farmington High School coaches and players. As leaders of the program, Nick and Max are proud of the quality of youth players, teams, and programs that we have in Farmington, and are excited to build relationships with youth players who could one day play at the high school level. They know that Farmington High School Soccer’s continued tradition of success is greatly attributed to the high quality youth system in town. In this week long half day program players can expect to go through a series of technical drills, conditioning, small sided games, and full game situations. Our Farmington Soccer Goal Clinic is designed to help players improve in all aspects as a player and members of the team.

    212200 - Dance Costume

    Farmington Recreation Dancers and Participants,

Farmington Recreation will be hosting our Annual Dance Recital for those participants in our Winter/Spring 2020 Dance Classes with Miss Phyllis and Miss Nadia at the conclusion of the session. The rehearsal is scheduled in the eveing on May 14, 2020 and the recital is scheduled in the evening on May 15, 2020. If you would like your dancer to participate in the recital, the requirements are taking the Winter/Spring Dance Classes and purchasing a costume and the appropriate color of tights and shoes.

Miss Phyllis and Miss Nadia will be taking measurement during the first class of the Winter/Spring Session. Students should be in their leotards or tight-fitting clothing to get a good measurement. The chest, waist, hips and girth will be measured and if they are wearing bulky clothes their costume might be too big.

The fee for the costume is $75.00 and is separate from class registration fees. Credit card payment for costumes may be made online by clicking on the shopping cart below or you may leave a check with Miss Phyllis or Miss Nadia. The costume fee must be paid for online by January 23 or by check at your first class. For the spring session it is not a guarantee that a costume can be ordered if they go out of stock.

Registration for the Winter/Spring Classes will be available in December.

If you have any questions about costumes, please see Miss Phyllis or Miss Nadia at the start of your next class.

    Thank You,

    Recreation Staff
