Our NFL Flag Football Spring Program, managed by the Farmington Valley MudHogs, is an instructional program for youth in grades K - 8. Youth will play with others of an appropriate age on Sundays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. No practices, no scores, no experience necessary... Just for fun!

112211 - Ballet, Tap & Jazz Combo
Fun, energetic music and the basic knowledge of ballet, tap and jazz will be incorporated into these classes. Leotard, tights and tap shoes are required.
Spring Ballet, Tap & Jazz Classes are open to Winter Ballet, Tap & Jazz Class participants through Monday, 3/8/2021 at 8:59 a.m. On 3/8/2021 at 9:00 a.m. our Spring Ballet, Tap & Jazz Classes will be open on a first-come, first-served basis.
ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
1) This program is scheduled at the Farmington Community & Senior Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville.
2) Participants should check-in, enter and exit through the main entrance of the building. Parents and participants are asked to wear a facemask while approaching the building and upon check-in. Participants will be directed to the Dance Studio upon check-in. Parents will not be able to wait indoors during class. Parents are asked to wait outside near or in their vehicles during class.

This program is considered a Moderate Risk Program that involves close, sustained contact, but with protective equipment in place that may reduce the likelihood of respiratory particle transmission between participants OR intermittent close contact OR group sports OR sports that use equipment that can’t be cleaned between participants. Please take note of the public health protocols list below prior to registration.
1) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants shall conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
2) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants are required to wear a cloth face covering/mask at all times while inside the gymnasium/facility.
3) Parents/guardians will not be able to wait indoors during this program. Spectators are not permitted.
4) It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the program.
5) Water fountains are not available for use. Participants shall bring plenty of water.
6) Unless directed by the instructor, participants may/shall not bring their own materials/supplies to this program. All materials/supplies shall be sanitized by the instructor(s) at the start and at the conclusion of the program.
7) If an event organizer, staff member, coach or participant who has been present in the program is diagnosed with COVID-19 or listed as a direct contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 the Town of Farmington’s Recreation Supervisor must be notified about the exposure.

121101 - Coach Mac's Baseball Clinic

Directed by Coach Mike "Mac" McGuire and Coach Pendergast, participants will learn to play like they’re in the major leagues! This camp includes instruction on hitting, fielding, pitching, throwing, base running, game strategy, and a discussion on the rules and regulations. Children need to bring a snack, water, and will receive a camp T-shirt.
ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
1) Coach Mac's Baseball Clinics will be held Monday - Thursday at the River Glen Little League Complex in Farmington. In case of inclement weather, Friday will be used for a make-up date.
2) It is expected that all participants will bring their own baseball equipment. Participants should bring snacks and plenty of water.
3) Unless otherwise noted, participants are asked to wear a facemask while checking in and may be required to wear masks during the program, pending guidelines set forth by the State of Connecticut and/or the Farmington Valley Health District. This camp, Directed by Westwoods Golf Course Pro, Larry Graham, is designed for novice/intermediate player with an emphasis on the fundamentals of the game including the short game, driving, etiquette and rules. Campers will play daily and receive a hat and shirt. Campers must provide their own clubs. Lunch will be provided. Participants should bring snacks and plenty of water.

1) This program is scheduled at the Westwoods Golf Course Driving Range, 14 Westwoods Drive, Farmington, CT. *Participants may check in as early as 8:30 a.m.

Open to players entering grades 5 - 8 and of all ability levels, Farmington Recreation's Field Hockey Clinics are the perfect opportunity to train with experienced coaches and take your game to the next level! Each day, participants will receive instruction in skills, drills and game strategies to improve footwork, stick handling and more! Shin guards are required. Goggles are recommended. Sticks may be available for use upon request.

Farmington Recreation, Farmington High School Football, and the Farmington Valley MudHogs have teamed up to offer 2021 Farmington Summer Football Camp.

Our Farmington Summer Football Camp, managed by the Farmington Valley MudHogs and Farmington High School Football, is an instructional program for youth entering grades Kindergarten to High School Seniors. Youth will develop technical skills, tactical skills, and physical skills with others in category segments on June 21 through June 24 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM at the Farmington High School Football Field. Skill development pertains to both Tackle and NFL Flag Football within the 0-Air mode and 1-Bag mode (non-contact drills). Positional skill development will include Quarterback, Running Back, Receivers, Tight Ends, Offensive Line, Defensive Line, Linebackers, Defensive Backs, and Kickers. Players need to bring sneakers, cleats and water.
Coaches: Only High School and USA Football Certified coaches will engage with the youth athletes during the Farmington Summer Football Clinic.

CAS Soccer focuses on creating a fun, learning environment while fostering a love for the game through skill acquisition, conditioned practices and small-sided games!
CAS Soccer Clinic, Born 2014 - 2016, U6 - U8
CAS Soccer guides players through a variety of exciting activities, technical skills sessions and small sided games that encourage maximum touches. The program focuses on ball mastery needed to become a competitive soccer player.
These camps cover ball mastery, passing and receiving, dribbling and moving with the ball, shooting and finishing.
*Each child receives a Dri-Fit shirt and a soccer ball.

121171 - Select Soccer Clinics, Summer

Farmington Soccer - Winning on the field, in the classroom and in the community...
Farmington Recreation's Select Soccer Clinic, directed by FHS Varsity Soccer Coaches Nick Boorman and Max Fantl, was created for players to get mentally and physically prepared for the Fall Season. This clinic is designed to help all players improve in their individual skills, tactical knowledge, and conditioning. In this week-long program players can expect to go through a series of technical drills, soccer specific conditioning, small sided games, and full game situations. Players should come into the clinic with a high fitness level to make the most of the experience. This clinic gives the players the opportunity to better themselves as an individual player and member of a team. Participants registered by July 31 will receive a Select Soccer Clinic T-Shirt. Please note that lunch will not be provided.
* Our Select Soccer Clinics are designed for those players born 2008 - 2013 but not entering high school. If the participant is entering grade 9 but born in 2008, please contact Farmington Recreation at 860.675.2540 for registration assistance.

Farmington Soccer - Winning on the field, in the classroom and in the community...
Farmington High School Boys Pre-Season Soccer Clinic was created for players to get mentally and physically prepared for the Farmington High School Boys Soccer Tryouts. The clinic is designed to help all players improve in individual skills, tactical knowledge and conditioning. In this week-long program players can expect to go through a series of technical drills, soccer specific conditioning, small sided games and full game situations. Players should come into the clinic with a high fitness level to make the most of the experience. This clinic gives the players the opportunity to better themselves as an individual player and member of a team. A portion of the proceeds from this camp will be donated to the FHS Boys Soccer Booster Club.

121180 - CT Swish Basketball Camp

The Connecticut Swish Basketball Camp gives boys and girls entering grades 1 - 9 (Fall 2021) in the Farmington Valley area an opportunity to mix both basketball instruction and summer fun. Under the direction of Farmington High School coaches Duane Witter and Jeff Daddio, CT Swish Camp aims to serve the needs of both the recreational and serious basketball player. CT Swish Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and all campers will receive a t-shirt and a basketball.
CT SWISH CAMP SPECIFICS
1) The CT Swish Basketball camp is committed to providing a high-quality program for a fair and reasonable tuition rate. The current rate is a tremendous value for a quality full day basketball camp including a ball, t-shirt, team picture, awards and much more.
2) Arrival, Lunch and Dismissal: All campers will bring their lunch. A drink will be provided. Camp will open at 8:30 a.m. and staff will be available until 3:15 p.m. for families needing extra time for drop off or pick up. Please contact the Camp Director if you have any questions.
3) Staff: One of the primary reasons for the success and longevity of Swish Camp is our fine staff. Coach Witter conducts special staff training for all personnel prior to camp.
4) The CT Swish Basketball Camp includes a camp t-shirt, basketball, certificate, team picture, awards, two games daily, bottled water for lunch, guest speakers, outstanding staff, contests, skills, and drills.

Directed by FHS Boys Lacrosse Coach Walt Stefanow, participants will learn a variety of lacrosse skills in this high energy camp. Team and individual position skills will be taught by high school coaches and varsity level players. A lacrosse stick, helmet and pads are required. Participants should bring snacks and plenty of water.

Travel Soccer (U9 - U14/15) practices will be held twice per week at various times and locations. Specific requests for practice days and times will not be accepted. Those selected to play travel soccer must commit to the Fall 2020 & Spring 2021 seasons. All travel soccer players must register with the Town of Farmington, Recreation Division. Please scroll down to code 121511 to register. Only those players that played on a travel team in the Fall 2020 are eligible. Those selected to play travel soccer must commit to the Fall 2020 & Spring 2021 seasons. All travel soccer players must register with the Town of Farmington, Recreation Division. RECREATION SOCCER INFORMATION
Recreation soccer (U6 - U14) practices will be held once per week at various times and locations. Specific requests for practice days and times will not be accepted.

Farmington Recreation's Jr. Soccer Program is a parent and child program focused on the introduction to the game of soccer for those born in 2016 as well as those age 4 on or before March 31, 2021. Clinic-like sessions will focus on the development of basic skills (dribbling, shooting, etc.) and the team concept for both the participant and parent alike.
Farmington Recreation's instructional program places players in an environment that encourages practical training, imagination and self-confidence through age-appropriate coaching while fostering a competitive, professional and enjoyable atmosphere. Reassurance and care from our coaches allows every player to gain a better understanding of the game of soccer.
Our 2021 Spring Soccer Program is slated to begin on Saturday, April 24 and conclude on June 19 (weather permitting) with no program on May 29 & 30.
Our Jr. Soccer Program is scheduled for Saturdays, but make-ups may be scheduled on Sundays when necessary.

121550 - Soccer Shots, Ages 2&3

Farmington Recreation is excited to offer the Soccer Shots Mini program for 2 and 3 year olds here in Farmington. This energetic and fun program is professionally designed under the guidance of childhood education specialists, MLS and USL professional players and licensed coaches to be developmentally appropriate and tailored specifically to young age groups. The sessions are 35 minutes in length and will introduce your child to the basics of soccer in a social setting. Using creative and imaginative games, songs, and positive reinforcement weekly sessions will focus on basic soccer skills like dribbling and shooting. We also highlight a positive character trait each session such as respect, confidence, and appreciation. Physical skills, motor development and fun are guaranteed in this program. Each child will receive a Soccer Shots shirt. Spaces are limited and will fill quickly. No gear is needed! Just bring a water bottle and your favorite play clothes!
* Our Soccer Shots Mini is designed for those players ages 2 & 3 by April 29, 2021.

1) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants shall conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.

3) It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the program.

122290 - Hip Hop Dance
Tot Hop: Ages 3-5
Tot Hop is a fun creative movement class for your tiny dancers to become comfortable & confident on the dance floor. This class will focus on basic hip hop fundamentals and percussive movement.
Hip Hop 1: Ages 6-8
This hip hop class is a fast-paced and energetic dance style using the latest street/urban dance moves set to hip hop music. Hip hop encompasses a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking and popping. This class for beginners specifically focuses on developing rhythm and coordination while encouraging individual style.
Hip Hop 2: Ages 9-11
This hip hop class is a fast-paced and energetic dance style using the latest street/urban dance moves set to hip hop music. Hip hop encompasses a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking and popping. This class for intermediate dancers and specifically focuses on developing rhythm, encouraging individual style, and improvisation.
ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
1) This program is scheduled at the Farmington Community & Senior Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville.
2) Participants should check-in, enter and exit through the main entrance of the building. Parents and participants are asked to wear a facemask while approaching the building and upon check-in. Parents and participants should walk straight down the hall to the Dance Studio upon check-in. Parents will not be able to wait indoors during class. Parents are asked to wait outside near or in their vehicles during class.

This program is considered a Moderate Risk Program that involves close, sustained contact, but with protective equipment in place that may reduce the likelihood of respiratory particle transmission between participants OR intermittent close contact OR group sports OR sports that use equipment that can’t be cleaned between participants. 1) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants shall conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
2) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants are required to wear a cloth face covering/mask at all times while inside the gymnasium/facility.
3) Parents/guardians will not be able to wait indoors during this program. Spectators are not permitted.
4) It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the program.
5) Water fountains are not available for use. Participants shall bring plenty of water.
6) Unless directed by the instructor, participants may/shall not bring their own materials/supplies to this program. All materials/supplies shall be sanitized by the instructor(s) at the start and at the conclusion of the program.
7) If an event organizer, staff member, coach or participant who has been present in the program is diagnosed with COVID-19 or listed as a direct contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 the Town of Farmington’s Recreation Supervisor must be notified about the exposure.

PUBLIC HEALTH PROTOCOL
Although future modifications may be made per the State of CT due to the current public health situation, based on current State of CT directives, registrants may be divided into age-based groups of no more than 18 each week. Due to this directive, the registration deadline for each week of camp is the Friday prior at noon which will allow us to create these groups.
Although specific instructions will be emailed prior to each week, please take note of the following information.
1) The location of 2021 REC Summer Camp is TBD at this time, pending approval of facilities by Farmington Public Schools staff. Specific instructions regarding drop-off and pick-up will be sent via email prior to the start of each week of camp.
2) It is expected that participants bring their own hand sanitizer. Farmington Recreation staff will schedule Healthy Hand Hygiene breaks throughout the day.
3) It is expected that participants bring their own sunscreen, preferably in a spray bottle in order for our staff to assist in the application as permitted.
4) Participants need to wear socks and sneakers and bring a lunch and plenty of water. Open toed shoes are not permitted. No refrigeration available.

Give your child the opportunity to sample multiple sports and learn for themselves how playing one sport increases their ability and confidence in another. All attendees play at least three sports each day and we encourage all campers to try at least one sport they’ve never tried before. 2.4.1 Sports in Farmington is Directed by Coach Max Fantl and both weeks are staffed by other Wellness Teacher from Farmington as well as coaches of multiple sports in addition to Junior Counselors who are current high school and collegiate athletes. Choose one or two fun-filled weeks and see why so many believe in our "Life’s 2 Short 4 Just 1 Sport" approach!

1) This camp is currently scheduled at Farmington High School athletic fields and gymnasium.
2) Unless otherwise noted, participants are asked to wear a facemask while checking in and may be required to wear masks during the program, pending guidelines set forth by the State of Connecticut and/or the Farmington Valley Health District. Are you interested in learning how to train to increase your running fitness? Are you interested in getting back into running for exercise but need guidance and motivation? Come learn dynamic warm-ups and strength exercises that prevent injuries and learn different ways to get fitter and stronger as a runner! Townwide Tennis LLC allows you to schedule your own matches and play at your convenience. Your goal is to play everyone in your division once (or twice if it is a small division.)
After your match, the winner reports the score on the website. The more you play, the more points you earn! It’s that simple!

Whether you are a beginner or a more accomplished player, you'll be sure to enjoy our Summer Tennis Lessons with United States Professional Tennis Association Pro, Paul Ratcliffe.
All lessons are designed with the player's age and ability level in mind. Fitness, stroke development, game play, court movement and match strategy will be addressed.

1) Tennis Lessons will be held on Sundays at the Farmington High School Tennis Courts. In case of inclement weather, August 22 & 29 will be used for make-up dates.

Farmington Recreation's Mighty Mites program is an introduction to Martial Arts for those ages 4 - 6 years old. Directed by Coach Mike "Mac" McGuire and Coach Pendergast, clinic participants will learn to play like they’re in the major leagues! Our clinic includes instruction on hitting, fielding, pitching, throwing, base running, game strategy, and a discussion on the rules and regulations. Farmington Soccer - Winning on the field, in the classroom and in the community...
Farmington Recreation's Select Soccer Clinic, directed by FHS Varsity Soccer Coach Nick Boorman, was created for players to get mentally and physically prepared for the Spring Season. This clinic is designed to help all players improve in their individual skills, tactical knowledge, and conditioning. In this three-day clinic players can expect to go through a series of technical drills, soccer specific conditioning, small-sided games, and full game situations. This clinic will give players the opportunity to better themselves as an individual and a member of a team. Participants need to bring a snack, water, shin guards, cleats, appropriately sized ball, and indoor shoes. Participants registered by March 31 will receive a Select Soccer Clinic T-Shirt. Please note that lunch will not be provided.
* Our Spring Select Soccer Clinics are designed for those players born 2007 - 2012 but not entering high school. If the participant is in 8th grade but born in 2006, please contact Farmington Recreation at 860.675.2540 for registration assistance.

Finishing a 5K is an impressive achievement at any age. Imagine the sense of accomplishment and pride your son will feel when he crosses the finish line of his first 5K! MPower Boys Running will prepare him to do just that. Modeled after popular Couch-to-5K plans, MPower’s training program is designed for all levels of runners: from very beginners to experienced racers. We will concentrate on proper form and pacing while we build endurance over the weeks through a combination of running drills, games and core strength exercises. Help your daughter gain confidence, build self-esteem, and lead her to a path of health and fitness. Focus will be on using games and drills that make running fun, while also improving athletic performance for those who play other sports. As part of the program, the girls will be exposed to goal setting, journaling of training, nutrition, and mental preparation. The program fee includes a t-shirt and training journal. 231010 - Golf Lessons, Adult

For beginner and intermediate players, this spring touch up series will include basic knowledge, short game and long game.
ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
1) This program is scheduled at the Westwoods Golf Course Driving Range, 14 Westwoods Drive, Farmington, CT.
2) Participants are asked to wear a facemask while checking in and may be required to wear masks during the program, pending guidelines set forth by the State of Connecticut and/or the Farmington Valley Health District. Per the REOPEN CT Sector Rules, all spectators are required wear facemasks or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth while attending youth sporting events.

231041 - Martial Arts, Advanced

Flexibility, coordination, strength and self-confidence will be developed through participation in this ancient practice. Advanced students will be introduced to weaponry and kickboxing. The karate gi and sparring equipment are required for advanced students.
ENTRY/EXIT PROTOCOL
1) The January 19 - February 25 session is scheduled at the Farmington Youth Center, 23 School Street, Unionville.
2) The March 2 - 30 session is scheduled at the Farmington Community & Senior Center, 321 New Britain Avenue, Unionville.
3) Participants should check-in, enter and exit through the main entrance of the building. Parents and participants are asked to wear a facemask while approaching the building and upon check-in. Parents will not be able to wait indoors during class. Parents are asked to wait outside near or in their vehicles during class.
PUBLIC HEALTH PROTOCOL (Subject to Change)
This program is considered a Moderate Risk Program that involves close, sustained contact, but with protective equipment in place that may reduce the likelihood of respiratory particle transmission between participants OR intermittent close contact OR group sports OR sports that use equipment that can’t be cleaned between participants. Please take note of the public health protocols list below prior to registration.
1) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants shall conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
2) Event organizers, staff, coaches and participants are required to wear a cloth face covering/mask at all times while inside the gymnasium/facility.
3) Parents/guardians will not be able to wait indoors during this program. Spectators are not permitted.
4) It is expected that all participants bring their own hand sanitizer and sanitize at the start, during breaks and at the conclusion of the program.
5) Water fountains are not available for use. Participants shall bring plenty of water.
6) Unless directed by the instructor, participants may/shall not bring their own materials/supplies to this program. All materials/supplies shall be sanitized by the instructor(s) at the start and at the conclusion of the program.

231080 - Olympic Fencing

In this course, participants will learn the basics of the Olympic Sport of Fencing taught by Fencing Master, Marc Ganych.
Marc, who has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise, studied Olympic Foil Fencing from 1979 to 1987. Marc is the 1984 Gold Medalist of the "First Junior Games" as well as the 1985 Bronze Medalist of the National Tournament "Blades of Ala-Tau". Marc is also the 1985 "Outstanding Fencing Technique" award winner as well as a published author of e-book "Powerful Fencing Footwork".

Calling all soccer players! Don't miss this exciting opportunity to improve your skills in this exciting new Futsal program with Coach Chris Lepak from CAB Sports!
Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide! Similar to soccer, futsal is played with a smaller, low bounce ball and encourages great touch on the ball, good footwork and dribbling. Futsal gives soccer players confidence, comfort and some flair on the soccer field. Players will work on individual foot skills, develop their technical and tactical skills and learn how to apply them in a game setting. Skills and drills are developmentally appropriate, high yielding and created to bring out the best in each player. Soccer flats/court shoes or sneakers are required. No cleats.

341330 - 2.4.1 Winter Multi-Sport

2.4.1 Sports, the internationally recognized, award winning program is taking their well-established summer camp model from right here in Farmington and offering a 6-week sport sampling program for grades K - 6 this winter! Sessions are grouped/cohorted by grade (K-2, 3-4, 5-6) and will be led by amazing 2.4.1 Sports Team Members.
Each 75-minute fun-filled session will offer two new sports each week (sample 12 sports over the 6-week program). Each week, the two sports will show a similarity between the two either through fundamental sport skills or team dynamics. All equipment will be provided. Participants should wear sneakers and attire that will allow them to run and play freely.
Grades K - 2: 1:30 - 2:45 PM
Grades 3 - 4: 3:00 - 4:15 PM
Grades 5 - 6: 4:30 - 5:45 PM
